Inner Mongolia Entry-Exit Border Inspection General Station

The Inner Mongolia Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station of the People's Republic of China, as a central government agency stationed in the region, is managed vertically by the National Immigration Administration. It is responsible for maintaining stability and control along the country's northern border, which spans over 4,200 kilometers and covers a border management area of 360,000 square kilometers. The border is the second longest in the country, and the border management area is the largest. It oversees 14 entry-exit border inspection stations and 7 border management detachments, primarily responsible for border inspections of personnel and transportation vehicles entering and exiting the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, managing restricted areas at ports, reviewing and issuing temporary entry permits for foreigners, implementing border control measures, preventing and investigating illegal entry and exit activities, managing personnel and transportation vehicles entering and exiting the border management area, maintaining public security and household registration in border areas, issuing and managing border entry and exit permits, investigating crimes that obstruct border management, and assisting in the investigation of other criminal activities in border areas.

Inner Mongolia is the province with the most open ports in the country. For many years, the Inner Mongolia Border Inspection Station has focused on the country's major development strategies, making precise efforts to continuously deepen the "delegation, management, and service" reform, and supporting high-level opening and high-quality development. It actively follows up on the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the China-Russia-Mongolia Economic Corridor, supports the construction of national-level key development and opening pilot zones, and has launched 163 convenience measures to assist the autonomous region in opening to the north and establishing a "Belt and Road" green channel. It optimizes the customs clearance process for cross-border transportation of China-Europe freight trains and energy "arteries," actively speeding up and reducing burdens for port development, ensuring smooth customs clearance, promoting trade, and stabilizing growth. It has established fast channels for bulk commodities and anti-epidemic materials at 7 land ports, including Manzhouli and Erenhot, with the cumulative number of China-Europe freight trains entering and exiting the Manzhouli and Erenhot ports exceeding 10,000, making the total freight volume at border land ports the highest in the country, ensuring the safety, stability, and smoothness of the supply chain, and contributing to the new development pattern.
