Tongren Fenghuang Airport

Tongren Fenghuang Airport is the first branch airport in Guizhou Province, with a history dating back to 1958. It first opened for navigation in 1972 and ceased operations in 1982. In 2001, the renovation and expansion project of Tongren Airport, with an investment of 163 million yuan, was completed, and Tongren Airport successfully resumed operations. The airport is located 21 kilometers from the urban area of Tongren City and 34 kilometers from the county seat of Fenghuang, serving both Tongren City and Xiangxi Prefecture. In November 2017, Tongren Fenghuang Airport was upgraded to an international airport. The airport has a superior geographical location, situated at the junction of Guizhou, Hunan, and Chongqing, covering one of the 18 concentrated contiguous poverty-stricken areas in the Wuling Mountain area with a radius of 150 kilometers, involving 41 counties and cities in 8 regions across 3 provinces.
