Shanghai Oriental Hospital (Tongji University Affiliated Oriental Hospital) was established in 1920. With the opportunity of the development and opening up of Pudong, it has now developed into a large-scale tertiary comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, emergency rescue, prevention, rehabilitation, and health care.

There are 125 personnel holding positions such as chairpersons, vice chairpersons, and directors of academic organizations at the national and Shanghai municipal levels. The hospital is equipped with internationally advanced large medical equipment, including a composite operating room integrating MRI, CT, DSA, PET-MR, PET-CT, EDGE radiation therapy system, and surgical robots.
