Yuexi County First People's Hospital was established in 1945 and is a comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, preventive health care, and pre-hospital emergency rescue. In 1998, it was rated as a national secondary class B hospital, and in November 2011, it was rated as a national secondary class A hospital. The hospital covers an area of 30,390.6 square meters, with a building area of 29,060.35 square meters; it has 300 open beds; and there are 31 functional, clinical, and medical technology departments. Currently, there are 277 staff members; a total of 262 professional technical personnel, including: 25 with associate senior titles; 59 with intermediate titles, and 15 skilled workers. The hospital has 48 staff with bachelor's degrees and 74 with associate degrees.

Yuexi County First People's Hospital has independent departments for respiratory medicine, digestive medicine, nephrology (including hemodialysis), general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, infectious diseases, anesthesiology, outpatient department, traditional Chinese medicine (including rehabilitation therapy), medical imaging, laboratory, and health examination. It is equipped with examination and treatment devices such as color Doppler ultrasound, DR, CT, fully automatic biochemical analyzers, fully automatic immunoassay analyzers, video laparoscopes, and electronic gastroscopes.
