Maoming People's Hospital
Maoming People's Hospital was established in 1960, originally known as Guangzhou Bank Hospital. In August 1960, it was relocated to Maoming to support the construction of the Maoming oil city and renamed Maoming People's Hospital. It passed the national grading review in 1995, becoming the first tertiary first-class hospital in the Maoming area; it is a key construction hospital for high-level hospitals in Guangdong Province and a cooperative unit of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital.
After more than 60 years of development, Maoming People's Hospital has become a large-scale comprehensive hospital in the Maoming area that integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and health care. It has set up a branch in Shuidong Bay, with a total area of 260,000 square meters. In terms of personnel configuration, there are 2,994 employees, including 477 with senior professional titles, 30 doctoral students, and 257 master's students, with 41 doctoral and master's supervisors. The hospital has 2,500 beds and 138 departments, among which the cardiovascular department, neurology department, rehabilitation medicine department, and gastroenterology department are key clinical specialties in Guangdong Province. The oncology department and infectious disease department are key clinical specialties supported by Guangdong Province, while other advantageous specialties include critical care medicine, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, reproductive medicine center, orthopedic center, nephrology center, and burn and wound repair department.
