How to charge a scooter battery (Yamaha Vino 125) with a Battery Tender Jr.. For DIY noobs like me. This procedure should work with any scooter that uses a 12v battery.
This is an easy procedure that anyone (even the mechanically disinclined like me) can do with just a Phillips head screw driver and a battery tender. The BT Jr. is inexpensive ($22 at Amazon) and, in my opinion, a must-have tool for every scooter owner. I’ve even used it to charge a friend’s car battery (for 3 1/2 days!).
Timely charging will likely prolong the life of your battery, saving you money and helping you to avoid futzing with the kick starter.
The battery shown in this video is a Binetto branded battery rated at 7 amps. It’s served me well for about 3 years in my Vino 125 (I replaced the original battery in 2008).
