This video comments on the building experience, performance and usability of this seemingly great deal. (Spoiler: Don’t expect 200 kHz out of it). I do some performance testing on it using arbitrary waveforms and a sine wave up to 110 kHz, revealing some interesting issues.
At its modest price, the DSO138 might appear to be the ultimate in beginner scopes, combining kit building and functionality into a single-allowance price bracket.
